.ah well

i got sick. so this week was a waste of time. most of which was spent in bed curled around my laptop watching theOffice. but i did manage to spend some time with a couple close friends in the earlier part of the week. emily and i didn't get to talk much this week, we were both either busy or asleep when the other called. we planned a phone date tonight so we'll catch up then. i started playing this terribly addictiive game i use to play last year, and i have a feeling its going to be a very bad idea to continue it. [so i'm going to] i'm looking forward to seeing everyone again at school but i am not looking forward to the work or the classes. next year is going to be so much better. living in the city, doing work thats worth doing. i'm very excited about the direction of my life. i need a new bicycle.

newYear

january .o7 was anyone really ready for this? i wasn't the year has started out well enough. i went to a awesome new years party with my closest friends some of which i had not seen in a very long time. i went to boston for a week. and that was incredible. stayed with my darling ehm and had a wonderful time. this week before school starts up again i'm gonna test myself. i'll post how it works out.

party i

suprise! two posts in one week, crazy i know. last night was the first i've gone out with intent to waste myself, and i brought a camera. and spence took pictures!


the night started out with spence and i enjoying a fresh bottle of rum. spoon came over to join in on the festivities.


later, melisa and rene came over,




then we left for the party.




then, we got to the party...




funny thing is, we didnt go inside.it was so crowded we just hung around outside and talked to a few different people. then we saw tim!

then we went to the bar, to listen to the minstrel. and more people were there!



and to make it even more awesome ANDREA!!!!

this one went quick. so check it. i succesfully went a whole week without doing any work for my classes. i think i have a job at target [since they didn't call me about the pee test (which means i passed)] so money soon, i hope. classes are going well, i have a lot of work piling up. heres the break down:
I.) Sr. Project
A.) brought in refferences of inspitration
1.) for me that means scher, carson, mcGinness
a.) for the sake of communication through design
b.) and pretty designs...
B.) pick a professional contact
1.) scher
a.) she'll blow me off im sure
a1.) shes a very busy designer
b.) more than likely she'll set me up with one of her assistants.
b1.) not quite what i want, but sign me up.
2.) jdk
a.) currently my favorite design team.
a1.) burton, æ, etc.
3.) carson
a.) first person to get me thinking about communication in design
a1.) designer with superstar status
b.) strong possibility for a professional contact.
b1.) done it for another student i know personally.
4.) dave weirner
a.) incredibly smart and thoughtful designer.
b.) found him through the billy bussey forums.
b1.) his portfolio blew me away.
5.) uhm...
C.) bring in three best pieces
1.) i hate everything i've dine
a.) my standars for myself are terrible

II.) Sr Portfolio
A.) meet with laurie and talk about porfolio
1.) met yesterday talked about my work
a.) went well she understands my dillema
a1.) i don't like anything in my porfolio
a2.) design being in a state of emergency NOT AN EXAGERATION.
a3.) discussed letting me more conceptual and experimental with my work.
2.) laurie asked me to design her professional/personal website.
a.) this is a big deal
a1.) shes been in the design industry for longer than i have been alive.
a2.) more than capable of doing it herself.
b.) i'm honored that she would even consider me for doing it
b1.) means she looks at me as a designer rather than a student
b2.) means she really really respects me.
b3.) we hold the same design aesthetic
III.) ComChoice
A.) Dr. Sanders is incredible
1.) smartest man i've had the honor of having a class with so far
a.) i want to put him in my pocket and take him out and listen to him talk whenever i can.
B.) i haven't read outside of class yet.
2.) not exactly proud of that.
IV.) Aesthetics
A.) see 'iii'
V.) Protest&Popaganda
A.) looked at street art
1.) banksy, andre the giant, mark eko, etc
B.) started concepting for first assignment

yeah, so aside from school here it is. been hanging out with friends a lot. watched the season premiere of nip/tuck with the boys and girls. it seem like it'll be an interesting season. been spending most of my time with spence and ilz. i've been thinking alot about the future and where i'm going to end up lately. like graduate school. i started looking at schools in the states but i have yet to find anything that holds up against chelsea. i took out a couple books from the library, a carson, scher, and bolshevik posters. randy lent me i book i should look at this weekend so i can get it back to him. i might just see if its in the libaray and take out that one but he has notes and stuff in it that would probably bennefit me.
i bought my bus ticket. ALL SYSTEMS GO. this time next week i'll be in boston with ehm ee! im so excited i've never use public transit especially at this great a distance. the bus makes a stop in albany so i spend an hour there and then its boston full speed. emily planned out the whole weekend for the most part and it sounds great. but honestly i don't really care what we do just that we're together.

wkOne

this was the fist week of my senior year. my mind is a mess. it good seeing everyone again. i forgot how much i've missed them all. classes are good so far. a couple senior classes and a few philosophy classes. a lot of reading and reasearch is to be done. im excited about all of it though. spence is at tiffs tonight, and as usual i'm fighting sleep. just put some coffee on the pot so we'll see how the night goes. i'm a little behind on my work because i failed to leave my bed for most of the weekend. i think about the girl a lot, but i wouldn't have it any other way. we talk lots so it okay. pic and txt msgs help for sure. in two weeks we'll see eachother and i'm really excited.i've been looking at but and train tckets trying to figure out what the best way to go would be. timing is difficult and i need to get out of my friday class for everything to run smoothly. shouldn't be a big deal [i'm hoping]. as long as we keep talking as much as we are things should be okay but im a mess. i miss her alot. friends help. i just hope they don't get sick of me talking about her, because i don't plan on stopping. shes incredible and i love her. &&lots. i got most of my reading done for tomorrow but theres much more for tuesday i haven't even touched. i finished concepting my stencil i just have to finish sketching it out. i have a few things to mount for tomorrows sr proj class. but im not sleeping tonight so it should all work out. blah blah blah.
